Ramakrishna Hegde served as the Chief Minister of Karnataka across three non-consecutive terms between January 1983 and August 1988.Terms as Chief Minister

First Term: January 10, 1983 – December 29, 1984 (Resigned following the Lok Sabha elections to seek a fresh mandate)

Second Term: March 8, 1985 – February 13, 1986

Third Term: February 13, 1986 – August 10, 1988 (Resigned following political controversies)

Key Highlights:First Non-Congress CM: He became Karnataka's first non-Congress Chief Minister leading the Janata Party government.Panchayati Raj: Introduced a three-tier decentralized local governance system.Administrative Reforms: Established the Karnataka Lokayukta in 1984 to fight official corruption.
