Tata Soulfull participates in Millets & Organics - International Trade Fair 2023,held at Tripuravasini,Palace Grounds-in Namma BENGALURU; strengthens efforts in making millets mainstream part of diet for discerning people-conscious about Good Nutrition,Healthy Food/Snacks/Drinks..



Highlights:

#1.The inauguration of the International Conference was done by Shobha Karandlaje, Union Minister of State, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare.

The exhibition segment of the event was inaugurated by Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.

#2.Lakhs of enthusiastic (farmers,students,housewives,gastronomes,culinary experts... )who thronged the stalls(especially the TATA SOULFULL Expo showcase,which was well designed/tastefully decorated.

People got to see/taste/feel/buy MILLETS ["Poaceae" Grass family]which are NUTRITION Powerhouses loaded with Natural -Vitamins,Proteins,Anti-Oxidants..

#3.The three-day event has been divided in multiple segments including Exhibition, Pavilion and B2B networking

#4.Millets’ were among the first crops to be domesticated in India with several evidence of its’ consumption during the Indus valley civilization. Various types of Millets, currently being grown around the world, were first cultivated in India. Being grown in more than 130 countries currently, Millets are considered traditional food for more than half a billion people across Asia and Africa. In India, millets are primarily a kharif crop, requiring less water and agricultural inputs than other similar staples. Millets are important by virtue of their mammoth potential to generate livelihood, increase farmers’ income, and ensure food & nutritional security all over the world.

Towards this endeavour, through a collaborative approach, the Government of India urges everyone including the Indian embassies, International Organizations, Academia, Chefs, Media, Indian Diaspora, Start-up communities, Civil Society, and all others in the Millets value-chain; to come forward and join hands to revive the forgotten glory of ‘Miracle Millets’ through the grand celebration of International year of Millets 



#5.Some of the key highlights from the fair included more than 250 stalls, millet and organic food court, buyer seller meets, international expo and conference, consumer connect, farmers workshop, cooking, drawing and quiz competitions, demonstration of millet recipes, among others. The key products on display during the fair were millets, organics and natural range, certified wild harvest produce, millet processing machinery, organic cereals and pulses, bio-degradable packaging, eco-friendly products

Mr. Narayan Murthy attended the “InspireED Conclave in Bangalore” organised by Teach for India at a panel discussion on “Education for Equity”

Teach for India conducts a panel discussion on “Education for Equity” attended by- Mr. Narayana Murthy at the InspireED Conclave in Namma Bengaluru 


Bengaluru, 21st January 2023: Teach For India organised its second annual InspirED Conclave at a government school at Mahadevapura, Bengaluru. The highlight of the event was a panel discussion on the topic of ‘Education for Equity’ to address the gaps in educational equality in India. The panels saw the likes of Mr. Narayana Murthy, Founder and Chairman, Infosys, Ms. Vigya Jain from Snehadhara, Mr. Shekar Hariharan, founder and CEO of Shifting Orbits Foundation, Mr. Mangal Pandey, co-founder and CEO of Key Education Foundation, Mr. Vikram Bhat, who has worked as a consultant to Office of the Deputy Chief Minister, Delhi Government, Ms. Arpitha and Ms. Fareya, a grade 8 Student from St. Saras High School in Koramangala and Ms. Sitara Chandran from Christel House. Students on the panel spoke about the need for learning to be inclusive, joyful and fun, and for teachers to focus on building strong relationships with their students and their families. 

       

Speaking on the panel, Mr Narayana Murthy, Founder and Chairman, Infosys said, “I am of the firm belief that there is no role more important than of a teacher in shaping young minds and there is no doubt that education is the most important gift that we can give to a child. Today, there is a need to focus on teacher training so that all Government teachers can also use innovative teaching methods to make learning relevant and engaging. Government schools should take support from civic society organizations like ‘Teach For India’ so that children can have equal opportunities.” 

 

Speaking about the conclave, Ms. Tulika Verma, City Director, Teach For India Bengaluru, said, “The aim of this conclave is to spark a conversation on what an excellent education can look like and what it can do. There is an urgent need for all of us to see, experience and believe that a learning environment that is safe, joyful and at the same time outcome-oriented is possible. When we are able to create learning in a way that involves children as equal partners, we create outcomes that are more rigorous and more holistic. The only way to bring about change in the country is by transforming our classrooms into microcosms of India we wish to see. The problem of education is complex and requires the Government, private players and civic society to come together along with students and solve challenges. We hope this space provides the inspiration and the path to be able to do that.”

Through the day, participants stepped into the shoes of a child, experienced a difficult class and a joyful class, saw a range of solutions and participated in conversation and problem solving on how to create education that leads to equity. The event saw participation from multiple NGOs in the region, many of which are staffed by alumni of the Teach For India Fellowship. The participating organisations included Mantra 4 Change,  Key Education Foundation, Dream School Foundation, Shifting orbits, Udhyam Learning Foundation,  Involve Learning, Augmented Understanding,  Durga Schools,  RGH School, Snehadhara Foundation, Sukrupa Schools, Project Defy,  Sneha Charitable Trust among others. Each of these organizations showcased their work alongside Teach For India Student and Fellow projects.  

 The day ended with a closing synthesis where participants shared their own commitment of what they would do in their own capacity to bring about educational equity in the state.

INDIAN ARMY Day was held/celebrated(for the FIRST time in Namma BENGALURU-the event is normally held in the Nation's Capital,New Delhi)

HIGHLIGHTS:

1)The 75th ARMY Day parade/celebrations were held at the Madras Engineers Group(MEG) &Centre near the Ulsoor lake

2)The parade performed with clockwork precision,comprised of Eight marching contigents drawn from MEG,Regiment of Artillery,Bombay Engineer Group,Parachute Regiment,Madras Regiment,Mahar Regiment,Horse mounted contigent from ASC, and a military Band(comprising five regimental brass bands)


3)The Chief of Army Staff(CoAS)General Manoj Pande took the Salute and in his speech said that the ARMY is ready for any action along the LoC to war off intruders/maintain strict vigil & is  advancing forward,building on it's capabilities and upgrading/improving the force in all spheres(men,material,munitions..)with the best technologies drawn from all over the world


3)A thrilling FLYPAST by ARMY Aviation Helicopters(Dhruv & ALH made by HAL),motorcycle stunts display by the TORNADOES(from ASC),freefall Parachutists(from PARACHUTE Regiment);had the audience spellbound/transfixed/in raptures;in a show well conducted with great gusto,fervour & discipline

Smart Food Culinary Symposium on Millets 2023 was held on Wednesday, 11th January 2023:

Karnataka has been a frontrunner in promoting organics and millets nationally and globally. The Government held three successful events in 2017, 2018 and 2019. The fourth edition of this mega event, “Millets & Organics – International Trade Fair 2023” will be held from 20-22 January 2023 at Tripuravasini, Palace Ground, Bengaluru. As a pre-event, Smart Food Culinary Symposium on Millets 2023 was  organised.

Need for Smart Food Culinary Symposium – 2023

There is further scope for inclusion of millet dishes in menus of various food and beverage outlets. There is a need to create greater awareness among food and beverage operators and consumers regarding the use and benefits of nutricereal grains. It would be beneficial to demonstrate the processing of raw grains, preparation and presentation of exotic millet dishes.

Display and demonstration of dishes made with millets:

 Faculty of Hospitality Management and Catering Technology (FHMCT) has a team of competent chefs who prepared and showcased around 50 traditional and innovative dishes with the different varieties of millets, served in a village ambience.Expo stalls showcased / sold various Millet products,condiments and ready-to eat treats/chocolates,candy bars all made with discerning nutracetical powerhouse ingredients.

The Lunch Feast was delicious,wholesome,luscious,nurtitious,fascinatingly palatable and a real exotic treat for the Gastronome/Culinary-conscious foodies !
