HAL opens 2nd Factory plant in Namma BENGALURU for production of TEJAS-LCA Jet Fighter Aircraft

 Bangalore,2 Feb 2021

The Minister for Defence Shri Rajnath Singh inaugurated  the new Factory today at Doddannekundi[around 3 km from the main factory] in Namma BENGALURU

HINDUSTAN AERONAUTICS LTD[HAL] is the Pioneering Aircraft Manufacturing/R&D organisation in INDIA and has recently filled it's order books with a massive Rs 45,696 Cr{approx 6 B US$}contract to produce 83 TEJAS LCA 4th Generation Combat jet FighterAircraft for the Indian Air Force[IAF already has two squadrons operational:'Flying Daggers,''Flying Bullets']based at Sulur near Coimbatore

The new facility is spread over 35 acres and will have State-of-the art CNC machining equipment,special heat treatment facilities etc envisaging a production rate of around 8-16 aircraft per year,spread over this decade.Around 5000 jobs will be created giving a boost to the Aerospace Ecosystem in our country, in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for ATMANIRBHAR BHARAT
